Blueberry Picker's Shacks

Recently one of my favorite hiking areas in the Catskills was ravaged by a fire. It has closed down one of my most photogenic spots that I was hoping to visit again this summer, The Blueberry Picker's Trail. Last year I was able to capture some amazing images of the remains of the shacks that sit in the woods along the side of the trail. (They have been uploaded to the New York Ramblings gallery)

Well, the fire burned 2000 acres over many days. I followed the progress through state parks Facebook pages and local news sites. I am hoping the trail will be reopened soon but I respect the need to keep the areas off limits for safety sake.
